Our team is celebrating women's vital contribution this Women’s History Month by putting together some tips and tricks to help our Stuwies feel empowered on the streets. There is a reality that women and non-binary people need additional precautions to protect themselves every day in society. Feel free to share this with your friends, family, courier community and whoever will benefit from this.

Technology can keep you safe

  • Make sure that your phone is fully charged before you leave the house.
  • If possible, share your planned location with family or friends close to you. The app Life360 allows people to see your real-time location. The more people that know where you are going, the better. You should also try to give them an approximate time you’ll be finished.
  • A portable phone charger can be a lifesaver when your phone has run out of charge. If you want to take extra precautions, these accessories can be lifesavers.

We are here every step of the way

Whilst delivering, take precautions in dimly lit or dark areas, especially at night. You can report delivery feedback to us at pick-up and drop-off and flag unsafe areas and poor behaviour. You can do this right from the app. This helps our team investigate problems and make your delivery experience better. If you feel unsafe, you can cancel a delivery through Support.

Predators are unlikely to try and attack someone in a busy setting. Try and head towards a busier street, or find a store and alert a staff member. These steps can instantly make you feel safe and in control.

If you feel like your life is in danger, please always call 999 in the first instance.

Trust your gut!

Gut instinct, intuition or hunch is a gift given to humans to help us survive. It is a feeling we all can relate to. If you are in a situation where you feel unsafe, or someone is acting suspiciously, your gut instinct might alert you before you even realise it. Remember, you can also cancel and report a delivery through Support if you feel unsafe.

How we handle harassment

At Stuart, we aim to create an inclusive environment free from harassment, bullying and threatening behaviour to all community members. We do not tolerate any such behaviour, so if end customers, clients or fellow couriers harass or make inappropriate comments, you can report any incident via our email address partners.uk@stuart.com. We will investigate reports of harassment, bullying and threatening behaviour which can lead to partnership termination
